Papers, 1850-1980s.

Collection contains printed materials concerning the 1979 riot in Greensboro, N.C. between Ku Klux Klan and the Communist Workers Party; they were collected by Dr. Nathans and include writings, notes, letters, an official police report, news accounts, protest publications, and term papers. There are also some Socialist and Communist publications, and a small number of letters. A later addition includes negatives of a photographic history of Durham compiled by Nathans as a bicentennial project. Prints now located at the Durham Arts Council.
